WAS PEPPERMINT BUTLER TRYING TO MAKE A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL
One of the reasons why I love Adventure Time is because of all the clichés it goes against. Princess Bubblegum can easily be the prissy, stuck-up girl that Finn somehow is in love with and does everything for. She’s actually a scientific genius and a true princess. You never see women doing experiments and curing illnesses in cartoons. Plus, most princesses are portrayed as nice, happy girls with the perfect life. PB deals with the stress of ruling a kingdom and keeping everything in order, which is barely seen. Also, she’s cold and insensitive. She is unaware of people’s feelings and makes tons of sacrifices, no matter how cold they can be. You always see the typical princess making sure everyone is happy, but Princess Bubblegum does what she can and doesn’t please everyone. She could’ve easily agreed to stay 13 and run away with Finn, but a true princess doesn’t abandon her kingdom for love. I think PB is the most realistic portrayal of a princess I’ve ever seen.
